Arizona's 2019 class is again already very loaded and seems to keep getting better. Hillcrest Prep 6-foot-8 junior post JB Mukeba recently enrolled at the school. A native of Africa, Mukeba is a long and athletic post talent that has a high motor. With the recent loss of two top-rated prospects at Hillcrest Prep, Mukeba will look to help anchor the program's National Team this high school season.
The Hillcrest Prep National Team will look to repeat as national champions of the Grind Session this season, but they will have to do it without the services of two top-rated 2019 prospects - Josh Green and Markese Jacobs (Kansas commit). Both prospects recently left the program for different reasons, but the group at Hillcrest Prep will still be absolutely loaded with talent.
JB Mukeba has the Hillcrest Prep coaching staff very excited about his potential for the future, as he will be with their program for the next two seasons. Merely a 2019 prospect, Mukeba has a lot of potential for the future and also a lot of room for growth. He is just scratching the surface of how good he will become, and he has time to develop still.
Mukeba is an athletic and skilled stretch 4-man prospect with a nice motor and a solid overall skill level. Has a long, thin but very athletic frame that allows him to play well above the rim and finish strong around the basket. He runs the floor hard and is a very good finisher in the open floor and around the basket. He still needs to add serious size to his very thin frame to maximize his potential as a player, but he is an intriguing prospect that should receive his share of college recruitment over time.
Mukeba will team up this high school season with talented 6-foot-10 senior post KJ Hymes (Nevada commit) and 6-foot-8 junior forward Dischon Thomas to give Hillcrest Prep a formidable offensive punch in their frontcourt this season.
I will continue to follow the progress of Mukeba as a player and as a college prospect this high school season, and will bring you any updates as they continue to develop.
Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: A native of Africa. An athletic and skilled stretch 4-man prospect with a nice motor and a solid overall skill level. Has a long, thin but very athletic frame that allows him to play well above the rim and finish strong around the basket. He runs the floor hard and is a very good finisher in the open floor and around the basket. He has good low post skills and a solid jump hook, and is also able to make shots from the perimeter from mid-range. As he adds physical maturity he should see his game progress a great deal. Needs to add serious size to his very thin frame to maximize his potential as a player. An active rebounder and shotblocker. An intriguing prospect.
