2021 Player Spotlight – Jimari Grayson

Arizona is a state where population is growing. Families relocate from around the United States, due to an attractive job and housing market. Apache Junction High School's 6-foot-1, 185-pound rising senior guard Jimari Grayson and his family moved to Arizona from St. Louis, Missouri, (12) years ago.

Jimari is a hidden gem out of Apache Junction HS. He is a good-sized point guard prospect, and has started at the point guard spot on the varsity, since his freshmen year. This past season, Grayson averaged impressive numbers - 22.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.7 steals per/game as a junior. He also has added at least 20 pounds of muscle from his sophomore to junior year.

Jimari is an athletic point guard who has great slashing and finishing ability at the rim. In observing him play, he is very physical, loves contact and getting to the rim, and has an elite slashing and driving ability, which can devastate teams by picking defenders apart and getting to the charity stripe. He also has a beautiful mid-range game, and has vastly improved his 3-point shot.

Defensively he is a lock-down on-the-ball defender. He is physically so much stronger, which causes opposing guards problems getting a driving lane or shot off.

Jimari’s father, Donte Grayson, played basketeball at Riverview Gardens High School, Hazelwood West High School and Meriemack Community College in St. Louis, Missouri, so he comes from excellent basketball bloodlines.

I look forward to watching Grayson perform during his senior season, as he is definitely a very good sleeper prospect in the 2021 Class.
