2021 Prospect Spotlight: Kaden Luna

Tucson has been a hot spring for basketball talent over the years, as greats such as Lafayette "Fat" Lever and Sean Elliot are just two of the top prospects to come out of the Tucson area.

Emerging from Tucson Magnet High School now is Kaden Luna. Kaden (pictured right) is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound junior (2021 Class) combo-guard who helped propel his Tucson Magnet team to a share of the 6A Metro Region Championship.

I first saw his ability and talent at last year's 21st Annual Arizona Preps Fall Showcase. Kaden showed a nice knack as a one-on-one and help-side defender. His sneaky athletic ability and physical strength is what caught my attention the most. He also has a strong ball-handling skillset, and a jumper. He looks to improve for his senior year.

Last season as a junior, he averaged 14.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.2 steals per/contest.

His goals for his senior season include, “Being a better leader on and off the floor, and keeping the team together - focused on building on what they accomplished last season," said Kaden Luna.

“Kaden has been committed on improving his game," said Tucson HS Head Coach Daryl Jones. "He works out (7) days a week in the mornings at the outdoor courts across from his house, as well as trains with me a few times a week. We are excited to see what the future holds for Tucson Magnet and
the Southern Arizona Region this upcoming winter."
