2021 Prospect Spotlight: Mia Carter

As a lifelong Arizonan, you learn about the sports programs around the state that are known to produce athletes.  Thatcher High School is a program that has multiple generations of families going through their program - keeping solid DNA on their campus.

Mia Carter is the daughter of none other than Russ "Mr Thatcher" Carter, an absolute talent on the court.  Mia is a member of the state's 2021 Class, an athlete who wears the number 23, and, each time she laces up her J's, she means to bring it.  Mia is usually tasked with guarding the best player from the other team, and her 5-foot-8 height doesn't describe her true length, as she can cause real problems for opponents on both ends of the floor.

Mia spends most days getting a basketball workout in, to only get out of the gym long enough to catch volleyball practice.  Once school season is over, she takes the trip to Tucson, where she plays with the Tucson Rattler Black Team

A really cool aspect about this young student-athlete is that, even though she's constantly on the go, she also maintains a 4.0 GPA.

Last season, Mia averaged 8.4 points, 3.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.3 steals for a State Champion.  Mia has been receiving interest from colleges, and expects to announce her offers very soon.  Mia plans on majoring in Psychology in college.

Mia will be a nice combo-guard with strong defensive roots - for not only her reigning state championship team, but also whichever college she chooses to join for the next chapter of her story.
