Devert Vista vs Skyline Player Evals

The 6A State Semi-Final match-up Thursday evening between #1 seed Desert Vista High School (27-3) and Skyline HS was a very exciting contest, as Desert Vista would eventually win the game, 63-44, and advance to the 6A State Finals. Here are the top performers from the game, which includes player evaluations . . .

Osa Ighodaro, 6’9, 2020, Desert Vista HS Marquette Commit

Osa had a very impressive game leading his team with 17 points total, but he really impacted the game with his rebounding presence, especially on the offensive glass. He did a great job altering shots on the defensive end, and after he got off to a slow start offensively, he did a good job creating offense for others with his passing ability and court vision. Overall, Osa showed his versatility on both ends during this semi-final matchup.

Tanner Poeschl, 6’6, 2020, Skyline HS

Tanner had a very impressive game for Skyline HS, as he led his team in scoring with 17 points, and he also led them in rebounding with 15 total. Tanner was great around the rim all game, as he finished in a variety of crafty ways with both hands. Tanner played a very aggressive game, as he was looking to attack and put pressure on the defense. Tanner was also great on the offensive and defensive glass, as he was running his motor and really attacked the glass with consistency all game.

Andrew King, 6’2, 2021, Desert Vista HS

Andrew had a very impressive and consistent game. He shot the ball really well from the perimeter, as he had had three total threes for the game. He did a good job making plays for others, and had a very low-mistake game, as his decision-making overall with the ball in his hands was really good. Andrew had another tough finish in transition in the second half, which sparked a big run for them. He finished with 15 points for the game.

Tyree Tyler, 6’6, 2020, Skyline HS

Tyree had a very solid game for his team, as he was another big force around the rim all game. Tyree finished around the rim in a variety of ways all night, and he was very active on the glass on both ends of the floor. He hit one three for the game as well. Tyree finished with 13 total points for the game.

Desean Lecque, 6’0, 2022, Desert Vista HS

Lecque, who had a slow start scoring the ball, finished the game strong and helped DV close out the victory. He had some really good finishes at the rim late in the game, and was also a consistent play-maker helping create shots for others. He also complimented his overall game by getting to the free-throw line a lot. He finished with 12 Points for his team.

Dayton Harris, 6’2, 2020, Skyline HS, NAU Commit

Dayton had a solid game for his team. Harris did not have his best game shooting the ball, like he normally does, but he was really good creating for others, as he’s one of the more gifted passers and play-makers in the state. He did a great job penetrating and making plays against a very tough Desert Vista defense.

John Solomon, 6’8, 2021, Desert Vista HS,

John had a very efficient game overall. He was very active around the rim and finished at a high level around the rim. He was very active on the offensive and defensive glass, and he did a good job using his length and size to bother the opposing Skyline players. Solomon finished with 10 total points.
