It was a super long road for Deer Valley High School 2018 graduate, 6-foot-7 forward Bryce Davis. After going throughout his senior season and also graduating school without a division-I offer, Davis has landed his offer and has now signed with the University of the Incarnate Word, where he will now play this fall.

The University of the Incarnate Word is a division-I program located in San Antonio, Texas, and is a member of the Southland Conference.

Davis had seen numerous division-II programs extend offers to him, but he seemed to be waiting for the right program to come around - a division-I program. Rather than jump on one of his D-II offers in the spring, Davis decided to play again on the spring and summer club circuit, in an attempt to gain more recruiting interest. While playing for the Compton Magic club program this club season, Davis finally reeled in an offer for himself - just before the start to the fall academic year.

Davis helped lead his Deer Valley HS program to a strong performance during the 2017-2018 high school basketball season, as the team finished with a 26-3 overall record on the season, and also finished as the state runner-up for the 5A State Championship. Davis started for (3) years at Deer Valley HS under committed and focused head coach Jed Dunn. Dunn helped lead the resurgence of the Deer Valley basketball program, which is now very strong and among the elite basketball programs in the state.

Davis is a stretch four-man prospect that likes to play inside and out. He has a good overall skill level and very good length of body, which allows him to make plays on both ends of the floor, and also be an effective offensive rebounder. Has excellent potential and upside, but just needs to focus hard on his motor to maximize his potential as a player.

Congratulations to Davis and his family and the Deer Valley HS program on this tremendous accomplishment for Davis, and good luck to him in his basketball future from our staff here at Arizona Preps.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Davis is big-bodied stretch four-man prospect that likes to play inside and out. He is at his best around the basket and from mid-range. He will need to improve his range on his shot and also consistency from longer distances to maximize his potential as a player. Davis has a good overall skill level and his extreme length allows him to make plays around the basket over defenders. He runs the floor well and is a good finisher around the basket. Davis does need to improve his overall motor to maximize his play on the court. A good rebounder, especially on the offensive end where he keeps the basketball up high for offensive putbacks. Does not mind physical contact. An OK ball handler and passer. Good shotblocker. Has excellent potential and upside with continued hard work and focus.
