Central Arizona Junior College 7-foot, 220-pound sophomore post Trever Irish is among the best low-post prospects returning in the NJCAA ranks this junior college season, and definitely among the top overall returning prospects in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) this up-and-coming junior college season. Irish is set to take an official recruiting visit to a school from the Big-West Conference this weekend.

Currently, Irish has several division-I offers on the table for himself, as he has received scholarship offers thus far from Long Beach State, Kent State and Florida A&M.

This weekend, Irish will take an official recruiting visit to Long Beach State. Long Beach State assistant coach Senque Carey visited Irish this week at his junior college, and is working hard to land Irish. This weekend will look to be a big weekend for Irish, as he could decide to pull the trigger, although, if he does not, I expect Irish to gain loads of recruiting steam this junior college season, as more coaches catch a glimpse of him.

Irish is among the biggest post prospects in the junior college ranks nationally, but he is also a skilled performer. As a freshman starter for CAC, Irish had a strong freshman campaign for himself - averaging 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per/game, while shooting 62.6% from the field. Irish was among the conference's top individual producers as a freshman, and I look for him to rank among the league leaders in numerous categories this junior college season.

I will continue to follow the recruitment of Irish closely, and bring you any recruiting updates regarding him as they develop.

Arizona Hoop Review Scouting Report: Irish is an attractive looking recruiting target, as he possesses excellent size and potential for the future. Standing 7-foot tall and weighing 220-pounds, Irish is a large post prospect with a solid skill level, and an ability to run the floor and finish strong at the basket. Irish has some upside still as he is still developing his offensive repetoire, and is still growing into his large frame, so his best years are definitely ahead of him. He is an active rebounder for his size and is a capable shotblocker. He is a good passer out of the post. Irish should develop this junior college season into one of the hotter recruiting targets nationally, and should garners loads of recruiting interest as a result over time. What level he ultimately lands at will be determined by need.
