Arizona Preps' writer Lucas Archuleta traveled to Los Angles, CA, this past weekend to cover the West Coast Spring Tip-Off event organized by West Coast Elite's Ryan Silver. Here is a recap of the top underclassmen performers from the event by the Powerhouse Hoops club program . . .

16U Elite UAA Top Prospects

Daron Holmes- 6’9, 2021 Millennium HS

Daron is a big-time prospect who is receiving a lot of early attention. Daron is a long, athletic and very skilled player who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Daron matches his size and athleticism with the ability to score off the bounce, or knock down perimeter jumpers. He has the ability to finish around the basket in a variety of ways, and can also attack the rim off the bounce, as he has a really good handle. Daron is also a really good passer and unselfish. He can really dominate the glass on both ends of the floor, as he plays with a high motor. Daron also has the ability to block and alter shots at a high level. Daron currently holds offers from California, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Grand Canyon to name a few.

Justus Jackson- 6’0, 2021 Millennium HS

Justus Jackson is a very intriguing prospect who has seen his stock rise lately, since helping his team get to the 5A AZ State Championship game. Justus is a quick, athletic, crafty, skilled and versatile point guard. Justus can score from all three levels, plays with great pace and is also a willing passer, as he can create for others off the bounce, and has a floor general feel to his game. Justus is a crafty finisher and has a really effective pull-up game off the bounce. Justus is a high IQ player that can make others better. He is a tough, gritty player who brings an edge to his team. He competes hard on both ends of the floor and gives opposing PG's problems with his on-ball defense. Justus received an offer from Grand Canyon recently, but look for his stock to rise even more as the summer goes along.

Carter Van Hammond- 6’9, 2021 Perry HS

Carter is a very intriguing prospect who has had a very good start to the club season. Carter is a long, athletic and skilled player who can impact the game in multiple ways on the court. He has the ability to score around the rim in a variety of ways, but can also stretch the floor with the ability to make mid-range jumpers. Carter plays with a motor and gets a lot of rebounds on both ends of the floor. Carter runs the floor really well in transition, and can finish at the rim at a high level. He has the ability to guard 1-5 defensively and brings toughness to the floor. Carter is also a very unselfish player and willing passer. Carter is an extremely mobile 4-man and moves well for his size. Look for Carter to have a very good spring and summer as the club season goes along.

D’Marco Dunn- 6’3- 2021 Tucson Marana HS

D’Marco is a very intriguing prospect who has had a very good summer so far on the club circuit. D’Marco is a strong, skilled, athletic and tough guard. Brett also excels moving without the ball where he can get to spots and get open looks. Defensively, he competes hard and brings some grit to any team he plays on. Brett has already received D-I interest, but look for that to pick up a lot more this summer on the AAU circuit.
